Abscissa of absolute convergence

Summary

The abscissa of absolute convergence σa\sigma_a of a Laplace transform marks the left edge of the half-plane where ∫0∞∣f(t)∣e−Re⁡(s)t dt\int_0^\infty \abs{f(t)} e^{-\operatorname{Re}(s) t}\, dt is finite. It is never smaller than the abscissa of convergence σc\sigma_c. In the half-plane of absolute convergence the transform can be handled with the standard theorems of Lebesgue integration, such as dominated convergence and Fubini's theorem. The strip σc<Re⁡s<σa\sigma_c < \operatorname{Re} s < \sigma_a, where the integral converges only conditionally, can be nonempty.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
