Allen–Cahn equation

Summary

The Allen–Cahn equation is the reaction–diffusion equation ut=Δu−ε−2(u3−u)u_t = \Delta u - \varepsilon^{-2}(u^3 - u). It models phase separation in a binary alloy, where u=±1u = \pm 1 are the two pure phases. It is the gradient flow in L2L^2 of the Ginzburg–Landau energy. As ε→0\varepsilon \to 0, the thin interfaces between the phases move approximately by mean curvature flow.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
