Even and odd functions

Summary

A function is even when f(−x)=f(x)f(-x) = f(x) and odd when f(−x)=−f(x)f(-x) = -f(x) for all xx. Even functions have graphs symmetric about the vertical axis, and odd functions have graphs symmetric about the origin. The node even and odd functions gives the precise definition.
