Indefinite sum

Summary

An indefinite sum, or antidifference, of a function ff is a function FF whose forward difference is ff, that is F(x+1)−F(x)=f(x)F(x + 1) - F(x) = f(x). It plays the role for sums that an antiderivative plays for integrals. With an indefinite sum, every finite sum ∑k=ab−1f(k)\sum_{k=a}^{b-1} f(k) becomes the difference F(b)−F(a)F(b) - F(a).

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
