Jacobson topology

Summary

The Jacobson topology, or hull-kernel topology, is a topology on the set Prim⁡(R)\operatorname{Prim}(R) of primitive ideals of a ring RR. A set of primitive ideals is closed when it consists of all primitive ideals that contain some fixed ideal. For a commutative ring it is the Zariski topology restricted to maximal ideals. So the space Prim⁡(R)\operatorname{Prim}(R) is a noncommutative analogue of the spectrum of a ring. For a commutative C*-algebra C0(X)C_0(X) it recovers the space XX. For this reason it is the standard topology on the primitive spectrum of a C*-algebra.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
