Shape derivative
Summary
The shape derivative measures how a quantity that depends on a domain changes when the domain is deformed a little. One moves each point of the domain to for a small vector field . The shape derivative is the derivative of the quantity with respect to . For smooth domains it usually depends only on the normal component of on the boundary. This fact is known as the Hadamard structure theorem. It is the gradient that drives numerical methods of shape optimization.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
