Partial differential equations Equations of mathematical physics Concept
Vlasov equation
Summary
The Vlasov equation describes a large system of particles that interact through long-range forces. Examples are charged particles in a plasma and stars in a galaxy. It is a transport equation in position and velocity for the particle density , without a collision term. The force is the mean field created by all particles together, so the equation is nonlinear. Coupled with the Poisson equation it gives the Vlasov–Poisson system.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
