Way-below relation

Summary

The way-below relation x≪yx \ll y on a partially ordered set says that xx is a necessary part of every directed approximation of yy. It refines the order x≤yx \le y and formalizes the idea of "a finite piece of information about yy". It is used to define continuous lattices and continuous domains, and an element is compact exactly when it is way below itself.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
