Approximately additive function

Summary

An approximately additive function is a map ff from an abelian group to a normed space. The norm of its defect f(x+y)−f(x)−f(y)f(x + y) - f(x) - f(y) is at most a fixed δ\delta. It is an additive function up to a uniform error. Hyers' theorem says that an approximately additive map from a normed space to a Banach space lies within δ\delta of a unique additive map. Such maps are also called δ\delta-additive maps.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
