Bargmann transform

Summary

The Bargmann transform is a unitary map from L2(ℝ)L^2(\R) onto the Segal–Bargmann space, the Hilbert space of entire functions FF on ℂ\C with ∫ℂ∣F(z)∣2e−∣z∣2 dA(z)<∞\int_\C \abs{F(z)}^2 e^{-\abs{z}^2}\, dA(z) < \infty. It sends the Hermite functions to the normalized monomials zn/n!z^n / \sqrt{n!}. It turns the creation and annihilation operators of the harmonic oscillator into multiplication by zz and differentiation in zz. This makes the oscillator very simple. It is closely related to the short-time Fourier transform with a Gaussian window.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
