Bochner–Riesz means

Summary

The Bochner–Riesz means of a function ff on ℝn\R^n are the operators SRδfS^\delta_R f that multiply the Fourier transform of ff by (1−∣ξ∣2/R2)+δ(1 - \abs{\xi}^2/R^2)_+^\delta. They are a smoothed version of the spherical partial sums of the Fourier integral, with smoothing order δ≥0\delta \ge 0. The central question is for which δ\delta and pp they are bounded on Lp(ℝn)L^p(\R^n), which decides whether SRδf→fS^\delta_R f \to f in LpL^p as R→∞R \to \infty. This question is tied to the restriction and Kakeya problems.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
