Conjugate function

Summary

Let ff be an integrable function on the circle, and extend it to a harmonic function in the unit disc. The conjugate function f~\tilde f is the boundary value of the harmonic conjugate of this extension. On Fourier series it acts by eikθ↦−isgn⁡(k)eikθe^{ik\theta} \mapsto -i \sgn(k) e^{ik\theta}, so it turns cos⁡kθ\cos k\theta into sin⁡kθ\sin k\theta. It is the circle version of the Hilbert transform. Its LpL^p bounds control the convergence of Fourier series in LpL^p.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
