Contiguity of measures

Summary

Contiguity is an asymptotic form of absolute continuity for sequences of probability measures. A sequence (Qn)(Q_n) is contiguous with respect to (Pn)(P_n) if every sequence of events whose PnP_n-probability tends to zero also has QnQ_n-probability tending to zero. It was introduced by Lucien Le Cam. It lets one transfer convergence in probability from a null hypothesis to nearby alternatives. This is the basis of asymptotic power calculations and of local asymptotic theory.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
