Dedekind-finite ring

Summary

A ring is Dedekind-finite when every one-sided inverse is a two-sided inverse: ab=1ab = 1 forces ba=1ba = 1. Such rings are also called directly finite. Commutative rings, finite rings and matrix rings over fields are Dedekind-finite, while rings of operators on infinite-dimensional spaces need not be.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
