Dirichlet series as Mellin transforms
Builds on Dirichlet seriesMellin transformGamma functionAbsolute convergence
Definition
Let and let be its Dirichlet series. Let be its abscissa of absolute convergence, and assume . The Mellin representations of are the two identities below, which hold for every with .
- With for ,
- With the summatory function for ,
Here is the Mellin transform and is the gamma function.
Remarks
For identity 1, when , and the sum of the absolute values is finite when , so sum and integral may be exchanged. For identity 2, for , and ; exchanging sum and integral is justified the same way. Example: gives , and , so Non-example: at with , the condition fails, and indeed diverges at .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
