Euclidean vector
Builds on Euclidean space
Definition
Let be a positive integer. A Euclidean vector in the Euclidean space is an element of . The real numbers are the components of . For two points and , the vector from to is The sum of two vectors and is . The product of a real number and a vector is . The zero vector is .
Remarks
Two arrows give the same vector exactly when a translation moves one arrow onto the other. For each three points , and , the vectors satisfy . With the sum and the product by real numbers, the vectors of form a real vector space of dimension .
