Holonomic sequence
Builds on Linear recurrence with polynomial coefficientsSequence
Definition
Let be a field. A sequence is holonomic (or P-recursive) if it satisfies some linear recurrence with polynomial coefficients. That is, there are an integer and polynomials , not all zero, with
Remarks
Example: the factorials form a holonomic sequence over , with , and , since . Non-example: over is not holonomic. Indeed, take a recurrence as above with and the other of degree at most . It gives for large and some constant . So grows at most like a constant times , while . Over a field of characteristic , is holonomic if and only if its generating function is a holonomic function. Every solution of a linear recurrence with constant coefficients is holonomic.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
