Incomplete gamma function

Summary

The incomplete gamma functions split the integral of the gamma function at a point xx. The lower one γ(s,x)\gamma(s, x) integrates ts−1e−tt^{s-1} e^{-t} from 00 to xx, and the upper one Γ(s,x)\Gamma(s, x) integrates it from xx to ∞\infty. Their sum is Γ(s)\Gamma(s). They give the distribution function of the gamma distribution and contain the exponential integral and the error function as special cases.
