Intrinsic volume

Summary

The intrinsic volumes V0(K),…,Vn(K)V_0(K), \dots, V_n(K) of a convex body KK in ℝn\R^n are rescaled quermassintegrals. The scaling makes them independent of the dimension of the ambient space. VnV_n is the volume, 2Vn−12 V_{n-1} is the surface area, and V0V_0 is the Euler characteristic, equal to 11 for every nonempty convex body. By Hadwiger's theorem they span all continuous valuations on convex bodies that are invariant under rigid motions.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
