Integral transforms, operational calculus Laplace transform: uniqueness and inversion Concept

Inversion of rational transforms by partial fractions

Summary

A rational function F(s)=P(s)/Q(s)F(s) = P(s)/Q(s) with deg⁡P<deg⁡Q\deg P < \deg Q is the Laplace transform of a sum of terms tk−1eatt^{k-1} e^{a t}. To find the inverse Laplace transform, one splits FF by partial fraction decomposition into terms c/(s−a)kc/(s - a)^k and inverts each term from the rule ℒ{tk−1eat/(k−1)!}=1/(s−a)k\mathcal{L}\{t^{k-1} e^{a t}/(k-1)!\} = 1/(s - a)^k. This is the everyday method for the transforms that arise from linear differential equations with constant coefficients.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
