Example
A Jónsson–Tarski algebra is an algebra with a binary operation and two unary operations and such that, for all :
- ;
- ;
- .
These laws say exactly that is a bijection from to , with inverse . Since the laws are identities, Jónsson–Tarski algebras form a variety.
A concrete instance is the set of infinite binary sequences . Let interleave the two sequences. Let and . Then and because the even places of hold and the odd places hold . Also because interleaving the even and odd places rebuilds .
Remarks
A Jónsson–Tarski algebra with more than one element is infinite. Indeed, if is finite with elements, a bijection forces , so . Jónsson and Tarski showed that in this variety the free algebra on one generator is isomorphic to the free algebra on generators for every finite . So the number of free generators is not an invariant here, unlike for vector spaces.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
