Definition
Let be or , let be an matrix over , let , and let be an integer. The Krylov subspace of order generated by and is the linear subspace
Remarks
Equivalently, . The subspaces grow, , and their dimensions increase by one until they stop growing. Once , the subspace is invariant under and all later ones are equal to it. This happens at the least degree of a monic polynomial with . That degree is at most the degree of the minimal polynomial of , hence at most . If is invertible, then lies in , since the minimal polynomial of then has nonzero constant term. Example: for and , one has , so . Non-example: for , every Krylov subspace is the line through or . So for the whole space is not a Krylov subspace of the identity.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
