Mittag-Leffler function
Definition
Let with , and let be the gamma function, with the convention for . The two-parameter Mittag-Leffler function is the power series The Mittag-Leffler function is .
Remarks
The series has infinite radius of convergence, because grows faster than any power of when , so is an entire function.
Example: for , , so . Also , and .
Non-example: for and the series is , which is not entire; it converges only for , so the condition cannot be dropped.
Laplace transform: for large enough, which follows by integrating the series term by term.
