Morita duality

Summary

A Morita duality between two rings RR and SS is a contravariant equivalence between suitable categories of left RR-modules and right SS-modules. It is given by a bimodule UU through the functors Hom⁡(−,U)\Hom(-, U). It generalizes the duality V↦V∗V \mapsto V^* between finite-dimensional vector spaces. Matlis duality over complete Noetherian local rings and the duality Hom⁡(−,R)\Hom(-, R) over quasi-Frobenius rings are the main examples. Morita characterized such dualities by the bimodule UU, which must be an injective cogenerator on both sides.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
