Multidimensional Laplace transform
Definition
Let and let be locally integrable. For and write . The -dimensional Laplace transform of is the function defined at those where the integral converges absolutely.
Remarks
For this is the Laplace transform. If the integral converges absolutely at , it converges absolutely at every with for all .
Example: with real . For and the integral splits into a product, and .
Non-example: has no Laplace transform. For any , let . If , then . So on the set where , which has infinite area, and the integral does not converge absolutely.
The transform is often written , and the variables are kept real in many applications.
