Definition
Let be a complex manifold. Let be a plurisubharmonic function on , or more generally a function that is locally a plurisubharmonic function plus a smooth function. The multiplier ideal sheaf is the subsheaf of defined as follows. Its stalk at is the set of germs that satisfy the following condition. There is a coordinate neighbourhood of with , where is Lebesgue measure in the coordinates of .
Remarks
The condition does not depend on the coordinates, since a change of coordinates multiplies by a smooth positive function. The stalks are ideals, so is an ideal sheaf; Nadel's theorem says it is coherent. Example: , with . In polar coordinates, , which is finite exactly when . So the stalk at is ; for example . Non-example: for , the germ is not in the stalk at , since diverges near . If is locally bounded, then . Algebraic form: for an ideal and a real , , the germs with locally integrable. Some authors use the weight instead of .
