Definition
Let be a topological space and let be a continuous map. A point is non-wandering for if for every open neighbourhood of there is an integer with . The non-wandering set is the set of non-wandering points.
Remarks
So is non-wandering exactly when it is not a wandering point in the sense of wandering sets. The set is closed, and . If is compact and nonempty, then is nonempty. Every recurrent point, and so every point on a periodic orbit, is non-wandering. A non-wandering point need not be recurrent. Example: for on , the point is fixed, so for every neighbourhood of . Non-example: for the same map, a point has the neighbourhood , and for , so . In fact for this map.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
