Partial linear space
Builds on Incidence structure
Definition
Let be an incidence structure with point set , line set and incidence relation . It is a partial linear space if:
- any two distinct points are incident with at most one common line;
- every line is incident with at least two points.
It is a linear space if in clause 1 "at most one" is replaced by "exactly one".
Remarks
Example: the grid, with and the three rows and the three columns . A row and a column meet in one point, two rows or two columns are disjoint, so two distinct points share at most one line; each line has three points.
Non-example: with lines and . The points and lie on two lines, so clause 1 fails.
Clause 1 is equivalent to its dual: two distinct lines meet in at most one point. Partial linear spaces are also called semilinear spaces or near-linear spaces.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
