Quantum dilogarithm
Builds on q-Pochhammer symbolDilogarithm
Definition
Let with . The quantum dilogarithm is the function of given by the infinite q-Pochhammer symbol For it is related to the series by , and is also called the quantum dilogarithm.
Remarks
The product converges for every , because , so is an entire function of ; for its zeros are the points , . The relation with the series comes from and summing the geometric series in .
Check of the classical limit: for fixed with and real , one has , so , the dilogarithm.
Non-example: for and the product does not converge, since its factors do not tend to . For other versions are used, such as the non-compact quantum dilogarithm of Faddeev, given by an integral.
Euler's expansion gives for .
