Rank-one convexity

Summary

A function on m×nm \times n matrices is rank-one convex if it is convex along every line in a rank-one direction a⊗ba \otimes b. It is the weakest of the convexity notions used in the vectorial calculus of variations. Polyconvexity implies quasiconvexity, which implies rank-one convexity, and each is implied by ordinary convexity. For C2C^2 integrands it is the Legendre–Hadamard condition at every matrix.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
