Regular boundary point

Definition
Let and let be a bounded open set with boundary . For a continuous function , let be its Perron–Wiener–Brelot solution. A point is a regular boundary point of if for every continuous function on . A boundary point that is not regular is irregular.
Remarks
Example: if is the open unit ball, every boundary point is regular, because is the Poisson integral of , which tends to at each . Non-example: for the punctured ball , the point is irregular: for on the sphere and , one has , which does not tend to . Equivalently, is regular if and only if there is a barrier at . The Dirichlet problem on has a solution continuous on for every continuous if and only if every point of is regular; the solution is then .
