Strongly pseudoconvex domain
Builds on Levi formLevi pseudoconvex domain
Definition
Let be a domain with boundary, and let be a defining function of . For , let be the complex tangent space of at . The domain is strongly pseudoconvex if the Levi form of is positive definite at every boundary point: A boundary point where this holds is a strongly pseudoconvex point.
Remarks
A strongly pseudoconvex domain is Levi pseudoconvex. Many authors also ask to be bounded. Example: the unit ball, with , has Levi form , which is positive for . Non-example: the domain is Levi pseudoconvex but not strongly pseudoconvex. At , with , the space is and . A bounded domain with boundary is strongly pseudoconvex if and only if it has a defining function that is strictly plurisubharmonic near . This means that is positive definite on all of , not only on .
