Harmonic analysis on Euclidean spaces Definition
Wiener amalgam space
Builds on Lp space
Definition
Let , let and let . For a measurable function and , let , the norm in the Lebesgue space of the restriction of to the cube . The Wiener amalgam space is the set of measurable with with the supremum over in place of the sum when . Functions that agree almost everywhere are identified.
Remarks
is the local component and the global component. In the general theory of Feichtinger, is replaced by a Banach space of local behaviour. The space is replaced by a solid sequence or function space of global behaviour, and the sharp cut-off by a smooth partition of unity. Two facts follow from the definition:
- with equal norms.
- If and , then , since the cube has measure .
Example: let and , with . On the supremum of is . These numbers behave like , so their -th powers have a finite sum for every . Hence for .
Non-example: the same is not in , because the sum of these numbers is a harmonic series and diverges.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
