Wolff potential
Builds on Radon measureRiesz potential
Definition
Let , let and let . Let be a positive Radon measure on , and let be the open ball of center and radius . The Wolff potential of is the function given by For , the truncated Wolff potential is the same integral over .
Remarks
Example: let be the unit point mass at . For , when and when , so while . For , exchanging the order of integration gives , a multiple of the Riesz potential of order of . The condition is needed: if and , then is bounded below for large , the integrand does not decay fast enough, and everywhere. The truncated potential has no such problem and is used for local estimates. The case is the one tied to the -Laplace equation.
