Y transform
Builds on Integral transformBessel function of the second kind
Definition
Fix a real number , and let be the Bessel function of the second kind of order . Let be such that the integral below converges for in a set . The Y transform of order of is the function
Remarks
Example: , because and . So , and , the negative of the Fourier cosine transform.
Non-example: for , behaves like as . For and equal to on and elsewhere, the integrand behaves like a constant times near , so the integral diverges for every .
The Hankel transform is defined in the same way with in place of .
