Cauchy–Riemann equations in several variables

Summary

The Cauchy–Riemann equations in several variables are a system of 2n2n real first-order partial differential equations. They are nn pairs of Cauchy–Riemann equations, one pair for each complex coordinate zj=xj+iyjz_j = x_j + i y_j. In complex form they read ∂f/∂zˉj=0\partial f / \partial \bar z_j = 0 for j=1,…,nj = 1, \dots, n. A continuously differentiable function on an open subset of ℂn\C^n is holomorphic exactly when it satisfies them. For n≥2n \ge 2 the system is overdetermined: nn complex equations for one unknown function, which is a source of the rigidity of the theory.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
