Condenser capacity

Summary

A condenser is a pair (K,Ω)(K, \Omega) of a compact set KK inside an open set Ω⊆ℝn\Omega \subseteq \R^n. Its capacity is the least Dirichlet energy ∫Ω∣∇u∣2 dx\int_\Omega \abs{\nabla u}^2 \, dx of a function that is at least 11 on KK and vanishes near the boundary of Ω\Omega. It is the case p=2p = 2 of the variational capacity. Condenser capacity works in every dimension, including the plane. It is a basic tool in the theory of quasiconformal maps through the conformal modulus of ring domains.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)
