Fekete points

Summary

Let KK be a compact set in the plane. Fekete points of KK are nn points of KK that make the product of their mutual distances as large as possible. They realize the nn-th diameter in the definition of the transfinite diameter. Let KK have positive capacity. As nn grows, the uniform distribution on the Fekete points tends to the equilibrium measure of KK. They are used as interpolation nodes and as discrete models of an electric charge in equilibrium.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
