Holomorphically convex domain
Definition
Let be an open set. Then is holomorphically convex if for every compact set the holomorphically convex hull is compact.
Remarks
Since is closed in , the condition says that has no limit points on the boundary of .
Example: a convex open set . For compact , the hull lies in the convex hull , which is compact and contained in . A subset of that is closed in and contained in the compact set is compact.
Non-example: and . By Hartogs's extension theorem every holomorphic on extends to the ball, and by the maximum principle for . So contains , which is not compact.
By the Cartan–Thullen theorem, a domain in is holomorphically convex if and only if it is a domain of holomorphy.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
