Probability theory and stochastic processes Concept
Hunt process
Summary
A Hunt process is a strong Markov process with right-continuous paths that cannot jump at times that can be foreseen. This class of processes is the standard setting of probabilistic potential theory. Brownian motion, Lévy processes and Feller processes are Hunt processes. For a Hunt process, the excessive functions behave like the superharmonic functions of classical potential theory.
