Koenigs linearization theorem
Builds on Holomorphic functionFixed pointTopological conjugacy
Statement
Let be an open set containing , and let be holomorphic with . Let and assume and . Then there is a holomorphic map on a neighbourhood of with and such that The map is unique.
Remarks
In the attracting case , the map is given by . The limit converges uniformly near , because with errors that shrink geometrically. The repelling case follows by applying the attracting case to the local inverse of . So near a fixed point that is attracting but not superattracting, or repelling, is locally conjugate to its linear part . Example: has , and satisfies . The hypotheses are needed. For , the map is not conjugate to , since it is not constant. For , the map is not conjugate to the identity, since it is not the identity.
Going deeper
For a student
The function is called the Koenigs function of at the fixed point. In the attracting case it extends to the whole basin of attraction, where it still satisfies . The cases left out lead to other theorems: Böttcher's theorem for , the Leau–Fatou flower theorem for roots of unity, and Siegel and Brjuno's small divisor results for other .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
