Lattice in a locally compact group
Summary
A lattice in a locally compact group is a discrete subgroup of finite covolume. That is, the quotient has finite volume for a -invariant measure. It is cocompact, or uniform, when is compact. Lattices are discrete approximations of ; the integer lattice in and the modular group in are the guiding examples. They link group theory with number theory, geometry and ergodic theory.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
