Logarithmic potential

Summary

The logarithmic potential of a finite measure μ\mu with compact support in the plane is pμ(z)=∫log⁡(1/∣z−w∣) dμ(w)p_\mu(z) = \int \log(1/\abs{z - w}) \, d\mu(w). It is the potential of the measure μ\mu with respect to the logarithmic kernel. It is harmonic off the support of μ\mu and superharmonic on the whole plane. Logarithmic potentials connect potential theory with complex analysis. For a polynomial pp with zeros z1,…,zdz_1, \dots, z_d, log⁡(1/∣p∣)\log(1/\abs{p}) is, up to a constant, the logarithmic potential of the point masses at the zeros.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
