Definition
Let , let be an open set, and let be a superharmonic function on . Let . The reduced function of on is the function given by The regularised reduced function is its lower semicontinuous regularisation:
Remarks
The function itself is admissible, so , and on . By the fundamental convergence theorem, is superharmonic and differs from only on a polar set contained in . The function is harmonic on . Example: let , and . The function is positive, superharmonic and equal to on . Any admissible satisfies on by the minimum principle, so . Non-example of an admissible function: in the same example, the indicator function of the closed ball equals on . It is not superharmonic, since it is not lower semicontinuous at the points of the unit sphere. Other notations are , , and the French name réduite.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
