Rogers–Ramanujan continued fraction

Summary

The Rogers–Ramanujan continued fraction is R(q)=q1/51+q1+q21+⋯R(q) = \cfrac{q^{1/5}}{1 + \cfrac{q}{1 + \cfrac{q^2}{1 + \cdots}}} for ∣q∣<1\abs{q} < 1. It equals q1/5q^{1/5} times the quotient of the two series of the Rogers–Ramanujan identities, hence an infinite product. As a function of τ\tau with q=e2πiτq = e^{2\pi i \tau} it is a modular function for the group Γ(5)\Gamma(5). Ramanujan found closed forms of its values at special points, such as R(e−2π)=5+52−1+52R(e^{-2\pi}) = \sqrt{\frac{5 + \sqrt5}{2}} - \frac{1 + \sqrt5}{2}.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
