Skew group ring

Summary

The skew group ring R∗GR * G of a group GG acting on a ring RR by automorphisms is like the group ring R[G]R[G]. The difference is that group elements and coefficients do not commute: gr=g(r)gg r = g(r) g. It is the algebraic counterpart of the C*-algebra crossed product. It turns a group action on a ring into a single ring, and its modules are the RR-modules with a compatible action of GG. It is used in invariant theory, Galois theory of rings and the representation theory of finite groups.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
