Symmetric kernel

Summary

A symmetric kernel is a real-valued kernel with K(x,s)=K(s,x)K(x, s) = K(s, x) for all xx and ss. It is the continuous analogue of a symmetric matrix, and the real case of a Hermitian kernel. A nonzero square-integrable symmetric kernel has real characteristic values and an orthonormal system of eigenfunctions, as the Hilbert–Schmidt theory shows. Green's functions of self-adjoint boundary value problems are symmetric kernels.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
