Thin set

Summary

A set E⊆ℝnE \subseteq \R^n is thin at a point xx if EE is very sparse near xx. Precisely, some superharmonic function is strictly larger along EE near xx than at xx itself. Thinness measures how visible a set is to Brownian motion and to harmonic functions near a point. A boundary point of a domain is irregular for the Dirichlet problem exactly when the complement of the domain is thin there. Wiener's criterion decides thinness by a series of capacities.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
