Functions of a complex variable Definition
Argument of a complex number
Definition
Let be a complex number with , and let be its modulus. An argument of is a real number with The notation means the set of all arguments of , or one chosen argument.
Remarks
If is an argument of , then the arguments of are exactly the numbers with . The number has no argument in this sense. Some conventions set . For example, the arguments of are , and those of are .
