Divisor function

Builds on Divisors of a natural numberArithmetic function

Definition

Let kk be a natural number. The divisor function σk\sigma_k is the arithmetic function given by σk(n)=∑d∣ndk,\sigma_k(n) = \sum_{d \mid n} d^k, where the sum runs over the positive divisors dd of nn.

Remarks

The case k=0k = 0 is the number of divisors, and the case k=1k = 1 is the sum of divisors. For example, σ2(6)=1+4+9+36=50\sigma_2(6) = 1 + 4 + 9 + 36 = 50. The same formula defines σk\sigma_k for each real or complex number kk. The function σk\sigma_k is multiplicative.

What this page needs for W2

  • edge instance_of in: one example (0 of 1)
  • edge not_instance_of in: one non-example that fails one clause (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
